Castaic Lake Report 10-02-2022

Largemouth Bass:

The lake was stained to muddy all week and we didn’t get out. Water clarity was one to three feet going into the weekend. The good news is that water is once again coming in from the forebay which should submerge the three feet of muddy shoreline, the main culprit in the water issues. Debris is not a real issue as most of it has been left high and dry. The area now known as Elizabeth Bay, at the Eastern end of the Fish Arm, is loaded with Shad and Bass. This should be a prime area going into fall and hopefully the rising water and high pressure weather should help clarify the water back to normal in the next few days.

Striped Bass:

Same as above

Water conditions:

Surface temp 75 degrees

Water clarity 1′ to 3′ in most areas
