Lake Piru Fish Report   04-14-2024

Largemouth Bass:

Springtime Bass fishing is steady for fish averaging one to three pounds in-between cold fronts. A few bigger models including a seven pounder were caught during a weekend tournament. Texas rigged plastic worms in any shade of purple will get bites in three to ten feet of water just about anywhere on the Northern half of the lake. Wacky rigged Senkos in green pumpkin will also put fish in the net. There is an improving Crappie bite in some of the smaller coves and cuts as the Shad have started moving shallow to spawn in the coming month or so. These are quality fish in the 1-1/2 to 2 pound range. This lake is super healthy and fun to fish right now. 20 fish days are common.

Lake Conditions:

Water Clarity  3-5′

Minimal Debris

Lake Level: Full
