Largemouth Bass:

Not much change from previous reports. We had some warm high-pressure days and then rain heading into the weekend. Water temps are 52 in the morning with a bottom temp of 48 at the 30′ depth. The numbers of Bass are holding on main-lake and secondary points in the 30′ depth zone. The typical finesse techniques are still producing as they do for most of the year. We are using 5lb test monofilament and 6lb test florocarbon for our finesse presentations. The splitshot and dropshot rigs with smaller finesse baits are getting bites. We like Purple Smoke on the splitshot rig and oxblood/red flake for our dropshot rods.

Striped Bass:

If you spend some time looking around for the schools that are active they will bite on trolled umbrella rigs, Kastmasters and Producer Flies. These fish are in the 30′ to 60′ zone and are seperate from the bulk of the fish that have sunk-out to depths up to 120′
