Largemouth Bass:

Good Bass fishing all around this week with small jerkbaits, Flukes and live Shad putting some nice fish in the net. Some of the bigger coves are holding fish along with main-lake rocky areas. Decent topwater action developing when the wind starts to blow in the morning, but sub-surface presentations are getting the numbers. Smallmouth are very active.

Striped Bass: A good week with surface “boils” becoming more frequent in the main-lake areas, mostly between the West ramp and Kong Island. The big schools are starting to hit normal sized topwater lures and pearl white Flukes. Adding a feathered treble to your favorite topwater lure will get you more bites as the feathers match the size of the smaller Shad they’re feeding on. Our go-to lure of choice is the Lucky Craft Gunfish 100 in the Ghost Minnow or Aurora Black color patterns.

Bluegill:

Bluegills continue to provide fast action in the shallow ends of coves like Dry Gulch, Hawks Nest, Utopia and Old SS around brushpiles and overhanging trees.      A bobber and a red worm is all you need. Great fun for the kids.
