Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

Not much of a change this week as the bite is pretty tough. Lots of contributing factors such as cooling water, falling lake levels, shorter days and lake turnover having an impact. There are a few bites available in the 20 to 40 feet depth coming on finesse plastics with C3 Baits Shimmy’s and Jobu’s in the Neptune Shad pattern on a dropshot or light-line Carolina rig accounting for most of the action. Main lake points, bluffs and rocky banks near deep water are holding fish but not all are biting every day.

Striped Bass:

The bulk of the fish remain spread out in deeper water from 40 to 100 feet. Jigging spoons, ice jigs and trolled umbrella rigs are getting a few grabs but the bite requires a lot of time spent searching for schools of active fish. This bite should improve when the water temperature bottoms out and the baitfish schools hold at their Winter depth.

Rainbow Trout:

The last plant of fish are pretty much gone from the West ramp area, either being caught out or assimilating into the deeper water chasing baitfish. Hopefully there will be another plant this week which is typical before the holidays.
