Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

The great Bass fishing continues in most areas of the lake with fish in different stages of the spawn depending on location. The water is very clear except for the backs of most coves, and the fish can be found anywhere from main lake points and rocky shorelines, to the sticks and bushes in the backs of coves. Most of the Largemouth are averaging one to two pounds with a few bigger fish to five pounds. C3 Baits Shimmy’s in the Neptune Shad pattern fished on the Carolina rig and dropshot continue to dominate the finesse plastics scene. Wacky rigged Green Pumpkin/black flake or Natural Shad 5″ Senkos have produced some of the bigger fish, along with some fish starting to bite on small crankbaits and 78 to 100 size hard jerkbaits. Every day seems to be a little different so now is a great time to just “go fishing”, have fun and see what the lake offers.

Striped Bass:

Very few if any anglers fishing for these saltwater transplants right now but the schools of baitfish are moving shallower, getting ready to spawn, which should bring the Stripers up from the deep water in the coming weeks.
