Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

Rain, drizzle, sun, high winds and temps anywhere between 50 and 80 degrees didn’t stop the great Bass fishing currently being enjoyed by most anglers. The water is clear again in most areas and temps closing in on 90 degrees mid-week should keep the water clear and the fish getting closer to spawning, which could be possible starting with next Saturday’s full moon. Most of the Largemouth and Smallmouth are averaging one to two pounds but some bigger fish to five pounds and bigger are being caught. C3 Baits Shimmy’s and Ridgeback Reapers in the Neptune Shad pattern fished on the Carolina rig and dropshot continue to dominate the finesse plastics bite, but a wacky rigged green pumpkin/black flake 5″ Senko has been producing the bigger fish for me. The fish are definitly moving to the backs of the coves, with the bigger females holding in the ten to fifteen foot range. Secondary points and shoreline breaks as well as the middle of coves with the deeper brush piles are all producing.

Striped Bass:

Still slow but the schools of baitfish are moving shallower, and are currently in the twenty to thirty foot range which will help this bite immensly.

Rainbow Trout:

The recent good shore fishing by the West ramp is pretty much history. Most of these fished have dispersed from the stocking area and have made their way to the bigger coves where they are in decent numbers. Try the back of Hawk’s Nest on the right side as there has been a lot of nice Trout in that area, at least for the time being.
