Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:
Inclement weather kept what was a pretty stable bite from materializing this week. Rain and ramp closures are keeping things as day to day. As the weekend approached the bite returned somewhat with mostly Largemouth in the one to two pound class making up most of the catches. The most productive depth zone has been fifteen to twenty five feet deep on main lake points, shoals, and bluff walls. C3 Baits Shimmy’s in the Neptune Shad pattern fished on the Carolina rig continue to dominate, as most anglers are utilizing this presentation. Dropshot rigs are getting a few bites as well with four inch finesse worms on the business end. The water remains very clear so colors like Neptune Shad and Watermelon Magic for the C3 Baits and Margarita Mutilator and Aaron’s Magic for RoboWorms are producing well under the current conditions.
Striped Bass:
Still pretty slow with a few incidental catches being made by Bass fishermen. Warmer days should bring the bite back sooner than later.
Rainbow Trout:
The fish from the last stocking have pretty much been caught out or have dispersed, putting an end to the bite for now.
