Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

Spring-like weather helped the bite this week on Bass averaging one to two pounds with a few bigger models in the mix. The most productive depth has been fifteen to thirty feet on main lake points and shoals, and bluff walls. C3 Baits Shimmy’s in the Neptune Shad pattern fished on the Carolina rig are accounting for the majority of the bites. Reapers on the C rig are also getting bit worked very slow. There is a decent bite on wacky rigged Senkos and C3 Baits Slim Pros fished on the bluff walls near deeper water. Natural Shad and Green Pumpkin w/black flake are the only colors you need to fish. Allow time for the baits to reach the bottom and dead stick it for a minute or so, letting the fishes curiosity take over before reeling in to make another cast. Patience is the name of the game with this technique.

Striped Bass:

Not much going on as of now, but look for both the trolling bite and cut bait bite to come into play in the next few weeks.

Rainbow Trout:

A recent stocking of some bigger Trout has lots of anglers fishing the shoreline with the usual dough baits and nightcrawlers. Lure chuckers are connecting with Rooster Tails, Thomas Bouyants and Super Dupers. The fish are getting hammered with the good weather and the bite won’t last long.
