Here are my modifications to the Rapala Ice Jig. This is a serious fish-catching tool, especially during the Winter. The only downfall of this lure is the way that fish can become unhooked during the fight. Originally intended for fishing thru a 10″ hole in the ice with spinning rods, these modifications will help put more fish in the boat and hopefully increase your chances of landing a trophy! Jim
Step 1: Cut off the back hook just below the barb.
Step 2: Using needle-nose pliers, bend the remaining hook into a loop.
Step 3: Put on a split ring and a super-sharp treble hook.
Step 4: Cut off the bottom hook hanger.
