Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:
Bass fishing is definitly changing into a Fall pattern scattering the schools into the bigger coves. If you keep moving and checking the main and secondary points you will find schools in numbers up to thirty or forty fish. The morning and afternoon topwater bite continues to dominate with most anglers choosing to throw Lucky Craft Sammy 100’s and 007 size Riser Baits. When the sun gets high the fish move deeper into the five to twenty foot range and the dropshot rig comes into play. The C3 Baits Shimmy in the Neptune Shad color pattern will catch fish as good as any bait on the market.
Striped Bass:
Main-lake surface boils were diminshed to a simmer this week as the schools are starting to transition to the main coves. Most of the Stripers are being caught in the same areas as the Bass. Lucky Craft Sammy 100’s, Espetit 95’s and 007 size Riser Baits continue to be the choice of most anglers. There are huge schools of Shad in the backs of some coves and when the Stripers get back there all hell will break loose! Stay tuned…
