Largemouth Bass
Wacky rigged Senko’s fished on the bluff shade lines, along with dropshot rigs and Carolina rigs continue to put fish to five pounds in the net as they have for the past five months. Small finesse plastics of all shapes and colors will work. Jerkbaits and Flukes are getting bit on windy afternoons, fished on points in the ski arm. The topwater bite has dwindled as water conditions continue to change with the developing algae bloom.
Striped Bass:
The bite was fair at best this week with mostly small Stripers being taken on trolled Alabama rigs and cut bait in the forebay area. Very little surface action to be had. The water continues to come in from the forebay while it is being let out at the same time near the dam. ???
Castaic Afterbay:
Not much change here. Dragging the weed edges along the Eastern shore continues to be the go-to presentation with the Carolina rigged C3 Baits doing the bulk of the damage. Small pearl and Shad colored Flukes fished on the inside grass line early in the day are producing quality bites as well. Launching bigger boats is an issue. Better to call ahead and find out the daily conditions. (661) 257-4050
