Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

The great Bass fishing continued this week with most Smallmouth and Largemouth averaging one to three pounds. Some bigger fish in the five to seven pound range are consistently showing in the counts, as the wolf packs of bigger fish are chasing Shad schools around main-lake points and cove entrance areas. Keep moving from spot to spot until you intercept the fish. C3 Baits continue to dominate the finesse plastics presentations after the surface activity recedes mid-morning. Bait Merchant 007 Riser Baits, C3 Baits Flukensteins, Espetits and Lucky Craft Pointers will all get bites in the zero to five foot range. Live Shad are providing explosive surface action throughout the day for those willing and able to net them.

Striped Bass:

Still not a great bite as of the weekend, but I would definitly put it in the “developing” column. Bait Merchant 007 Riser Baits, Lucky Craft Gunfish 95’s and Espetit’s will call these fish up to the surface while blind casting on windy main-lake points. Those anglers utilizing forward-facing sonar are getting most of the fish for now. This bite will inevitably explode, with big schools of six pound fish and smaller schools of two pounders to be had.
