Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:
Good to great Bass fishing for Smallmouth and Largemouth averaging one to two pounds. Some bigger fish in the three to five pound range are showing with more frequency, as the bigger fish get into wolf packs and start chasing Shad schools. Finesse plastics are still getting bit sub-surface with just about any of the C3 Baits or RoboWorms doing work, but there has been a shift to surface activity in recent days. Bait Merchant 007 Riser Baits, C3 Baits Flukensteins and poppers are getting attention, along with hard jerkbaits like Lucky Craft Pointer 78’s and 100’s. Fishing with Live Shad is off the hook and the strikes are explosive.
Striped Bass:
The Stripers are still not full strength as of yet, with only a few boils on some days. Bait Merchant 007 Riser Baits, LuckyCraft Gunfish and Espetit’s will call these fish up to the surface if you find the schools. There are huge schools of six pound fish and smaller schools of two pounders as well.
