Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:

Good Bass fishing overall with one to two pound fish dominating the counts, as these are mostly Smallmouth and male Largemouth post-spawn. Dropshot rigs, small paddletail swimbaits and wacky rigged Senkos are still the best bet. With the lake full you will have to find some new areas but most of the bites have been coming on steep rock banks, walls and secondary points in ten to twenty feet of water. There is a bit of a topwater bite early and late in the day as the bigger female Bass come out of their postspawn doldrums and start to feed aggressively.

Striped Bass:

The Stripers are pretty much done spawning and a few are hitting Bait Merchant Riser Baits 007’s. There are also schools following the Shad into the coves in the twenty to thirty feet depth zone. 3″ swimbaits, spoons and Alabama Rigs are all worth trying. We’re starting to see signs of a trolling bite as the schools become more concentrated and predictable.
