Castaic Lake Report 02-15-2026
Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass:
In the few days that the lake has been reopened the Bass fishing has been really good to excellent. The Winter air temps never got cold enough to lower the water temp into the 40’s as usual and is currently in the mid to high 50’s. Fish are hitting finesse plastics on a dropshot or Carolina rig in the twenty foot zone and shallower on secondary points and rocky stretches leading into most of the coves. The Fish Arm has been a better option as the Ski Arm has been blown out at times by high winds. The usual baits are putting a lot of Largemouth, Smallmouth and holdover Trout in the net. Four to six inch straight tail worms in just about any of the popular colors are working as well as shallow running crawdad pattern crankbaits and fluke style baits like the C3 Baits Flukenstein.
Striped Bass:
Not much of a report yet but there are some Stripers in the five to ten pound range being caught incidentally while Bass fishing.
Rainbow Trout:
There was a stocking last Tuesday at the West Ramp
